Over the times, making the cake bacame easier and easier. Reduce speed to low; gradually mix in flour mixture. Transfer batter to buttered pie plate. Arrange strawberries on top of batter, cut sides down and as close together as possible. Sprinkle remaining 2 tablespoons sugar over berries.
Step 4
Bake cake 10 minutes. Reduce oven temperature to 325 degrees. Bake until cake is golden brown and firm to the touch, about 1 hour. Let cool in pie plate on a wire rack. Cut into wedges.
When I first began I always either placed the strawberries in the wrong place or forgot to put them in the cake. My mother always said "You never know or remember how to do anything".The cake always tasted lovely when I finished it. Momma told me that it was even better than her lemon cake. From that day on, I began to make more chocolate strawberry cakes. I even gave it an nickname.I call it the "CSDrop" while stands for chocolate strawberry drop.
I continued and continued making the cake, and I still make it today. This isn't my favorite cake but I would pick it over any other cake except an ooey gooey cake( my favorite ).The prepation to make this cake is very easy once you get to making it, but I never was able to finish. Martha Stewart ooey gooey cakes were the best, until they stopped selling them. I'll continue to try and make them but I will not stop making CSDrop.
Lately, my mother has been making lemon cakes. At first, I absolutely disliked it , but now I've began to love it. My Great-Grandmother LOVED lemon cake more than any other food before she died.Cakes are a HUGE tradition when it comes to my family. We LOVE our dessert, mainly cakess and pies.
To me, this is the best cake ever. It doesn't take long to make at all. You'll love it whenever you make it, just trust me. CHOCOLATE STRAWBERRY CAKE IS THE BEST!!!!
